My Testimony

I was raised in a financially secure home in Taipei, Taiwan. My parents and relatives always treated me well. My father was a pediatrician. Most of the kids around me thought I was a very lucky girl. For instance, I did not take the school bus to school; instead, I took a taxi to and from school. I also did no bring a cold lunch in the morning and heat it up later; instead, either my mom or the servant brought a hot lunch to me during lunch time. They did this throughout all of my schooling from the first grade to the eighth grade. I could say that I lived a very easy lifestyle. I could have almost whatever I wanted materially. All I had to do was to go to school and study hard.

However, I was not satisfied. I did not find the real peace within my family and me. When I was 15, all of my family, except my father, immigrated to the United States in 1985. My mother has played a very important role in my life. She carried the burden and supported my brothers and me to complete high school, undergraduate school, and graduate school. She is such a strong woman.

When I was a junior in UCI, two people approached me on the campus. One of those Christians is very special to me because she is different than any friend I have known. I saw Christ in her and she brought me to the Lord Jesus Christ in the most subjective way. Since then I knew that there was no way anyone could take away the relationship between the Lord and me. Praise the Lord! It was then that I started to believe in Christ and I later was baptized on December 25, 1991, at the meeting hall of the church in Anaheim. Since then, I have enjoyed seven and a half years in a marvelous, wonderful, and awesome local church.
